Residents of Jewish Recovery Houses must be Jewish. Upon admission to our recovery houses, residents must be proven to be drug and alcohol free. The tests used are sensitive and recent use will cause a positive that will disqualify an applicant.
Residents are then introduced into a moderately structured living environment which requires the following:
- Gain sufficient employment to pay weekly client program service fees.
- Documenting daily attendance at Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous meetings.
- Attending mandatory house meetings.
- Adhering without exception to all house rules, including but not limited to nightly
house curfew, noise restrictions, and assigned household chores.
- Providing random urine samples when requested. Use of illegal substances or any
alcohol is strictly prohibited and is automatic grounds for termination.
The Houses operate on a system of Phases in which a resident progresses through levels of increasing responsibility and privilege. Time in the House is not the sole criteria for advancement; specific treatment goals must also be met.
It is helpful, but not necessary that a resident have a recent medical check up. In any case, residents must make full disclosure of medical conditions including psychiatric. JRH may not be suitable for residents with certain conditions or taking certain medications. Please establish permission in advance before arrival.
